Sizzlin' Pepper Steak (Ayala Center Cebu)

The earthquake that shook some parts of Visayas and Mindanao last Monday caused us to search some food to ingest in order to take away our nervousness. Not really. I honestly didn't feel the earthquake, because I was riding a jeepney when it happened. Papa was here in Cebu on that day, so we went to Ayala to have another pig out day. Papa felt the earthquake, but I guess he just stayed calm. Anyway, let us just all pray for the victims in Negros, the epicenter of the earthquake. They have been hit badly, the footage of the damages, deaths, and casualties of the earthquake are alarming and sympathizing. Let us hope that the government will aid them. Let us pray for our safety.

On to the Sizzlin' Pepper Steak restaurant. By far, they have the best sizzling pepper steak in town. I could not even describe the taste in one word, considering that I only tasted their Gyuniku Beef Pepper Rice. It deserves all the adjectives of delicious - tasty, delectable, appetizing, sumptuous, mouthwatering well-seasoned, savory, flavorful, scrumptious, heavenly, etc. (see thesaurus hehe).

My brother was the only one who ate a meal, because Papa and I were finished eating before we met up. He ordered Gyuniku Beef Pepper Rice worth P250, which comes with an iced tea, and a Turtle Cheesecake worth P190, I suppose. I ordered my ever favorite Blueberry Cheesecake worth P180. Papa did not order anything because he was so full.

As I have previously claimed, their Gyuniku Beef Pepper Rice is the most flavorful and malinamnam sizzling food I have ever tasted. We speculated that what made it so flavorful is the egg yolk. My brother even jokingly said that perhaps they put a drug in the egg yolk, due to its savory taste. Their blueberry cheesecake is also delicious, but it was not as heavenly. Perhaps the blueberry cheesecake was heavenly, the gyuniku beef pepper rice just blew me away. However, we could not determine the taste of their turtle cheesecake. The turtle cheesecake is drizzled with caramel and topped with thinly sliced almonds and powdered cocoa, but my brother felt like he was eating a lotion and a feed. Moreover, their waiters and waitresses are very friendly and assisting. The downer in the restaurant is that their desserts are not always available. The only available dessert on that day was the Turtle Cheesecake and the Blueberry Cheesecake.

At first, I thought that this restaurant is not budget-friendly, especially for students, but after tasting the Gyuniku beef pepper rice, the price is worth it all. I would definitively go back and eat a gyuniku beef pepper rice for myself.

Nature and City Harmony

Seldom do I appreciate the wonderful scenery outside the house. Every time I step out of our humble abode, I'm in a brisk walk. My mind engrossed on the idea of being late for school, yet again. I'm always in a rush, neglecting the harmony of the nature and the city at my immediate sight. Yet, every afternoon, when I pass by the bridge, I feel so much need to stop in the middle, take out my camera phone, and snap photos of the magnificent scenery.

I used to take photos of the view outside the house when I was in high school. Time passed, I stopped. Blame it to my lethargy. However, the weeks of January dragged me to capture back the view I used to love. These photos were taken using my trusty camera phone. I definitely need to buy a new camera. 

Words of advice - take out your cameras and snap photos of the view outside your house. Scanning them later on would make you feel nostalgic, surely. Love the nature, love the city.

Page 31 of 366 is My Birthday!

Yep, yesterday was my birthday. I'm always grateful to God for the gift of life. I won't be too dramatic. I just wanna say to all those who greeted me, to all those who remembered my birthday (with the help of Facebook), to all those who gave me gifts and surprises - THANK YOU from the abyss of my heart.

Okay, so instead of the usual home celebration, we opted to just have dinner outside. Since the whole family is not here, it's the better option. Mama and I were really confused where to eat, but I chose Hukad. Hello! Unlimited rice! It's pig out day! After dinner, we craved for something sweet, so I led Mama and le bro to Dessert Factory. We savored those yummy pastries, despite our already bloated and full tummy.

Today, February 1 - lunch blowout for TombSoc with Bianca, my fellow VIP, Big Bang, Acafeelers. I missed her so much. Gonna treat Air, sooner or later. Realized that we didn't take photos. I guess we got too overwhelmed with chit chats and laughter. Bianca's birthday is next on the calendar - February 28. Then, Air's always epic birthday - March 21. It's gonna be one crazy, fun party.

That's all for now! I'm not really in the mood for blogging. I braved out my laziness so as not to further delay my birthday blog post. I'm gonna be busy this week and the next. Grad pictorial this Friday, General Assembly in the morning of Saturday and a forum about Cebu City Flyovers in the afternoon, Midterm exam in International Relations next Wednesday, examination in Local Government next, next Monday, and a load of other assignments. Huh! I had a chill, long weekend last week, but I have a hectic weekend and stress weekdays in the following weeks. Oh well.
