Friday the 13th

Nothing really awesome for the past weeks, since school has started. I'm back to being a nerdy geek with my astigmatism glasses on. What have I been up to? Well, my life's boring. I've been sleeping non-stop. New year's resolution - FAILED. But that doesn't stop me from trying to change my sloth lifestyle. I'm in my adjustment period. *cough cough* lame excuse

When I have nothing to post about, I resort to semi-photoblog. It helps me keep my blog up and running, despite my lack of time and interesting events to blab about.

This cute entity is baby Dime. I miss him so much. He is our cousin, but we treat him as our nephew, because we treat his father as our brother, though he is really our uncle. I am as vague as that. Pardon me.

Comfort Food! People need not ask why I'm a flabby chubby fat girl. I don't deprive myself from food.
I've been eating too much, lately. Another new year resolution failure. Boo me.

I dream of taking a bokeh photograph, but when I rummaged through our photo albums last year, I saw this!  Taken Christmas 2010. Not sure who took this photo, perhaps my Mama or my sister, but I'm assuming it was me. In the family, I'm the only one who loves to take photos of the lights of the island across.

Thingamajig blabs.
  • I am a Dean's Lister, again, for the 1st Semester of AY 2011-2012. Thank you, God. An early birthday gift. On that note, please make my dream come true this March. I'm graduating! Yay!
  • Lakers has been winning. I am so happy, Lord God. Please always guide them and make them healthy. More wins! Thank you, Jesus. ~BELIEVE
  • Big Bang comeback this February! Big Show this March! Yehey! God, bless my baby loves.
  • My birthday is upcoming! Page 31 of 2012! I hope to celebrate my birthday this year, happily. Please Lord God, please let me be happy. I didn't really feel that I turned 19 last year. Whole 2011, I felt that I was 18, because I didn't get to celebrate my 19th birthday. It's just sad. Although I will not be a teenager when the clock hits 12 on the 31st, I'd be glad to be 20, knowing that I will be happy. You know exactly what I pray for, Lord God. Just grant that, and that will be the greatest birthday gift. Please.
  • It's Friday the 13th! I love Friday the 13th's, because I love horror, suspense movies. Talk about Jason Voorhees! I consider myself unlucky, but this day makes me feel that I am not alone. Kidding! I don't wish for misfortune to others. I don't believe that Friday the 13th is a malas (misfortune) day. People are just so superstitious, it's an ordinary day, and I love it's name. I usually find all the Friday the 13th's in the year, and look forward to them.
  • I will be on hiatus. I will submit my laptop for repair, again. This is just so frustrating.
  • HAPPY SINULOG 2012, CEBU! VIVA PIT SENYOR! Sto. Niño, be with us.

Bad Hair Ramblings

When I had my hair permed.

EXPECTATION

REALITY

Well, I used to have that kind of beautiful, long, curly hair like Raina. I permed my hair twice for the past years. But after a year, my hair got too long, so I had to cut the curls last August, and decided to keep my natural wavy hair for a moment. When the new year came, I thought of perming my hair, again. I didn't really find time during the Christmas break because I'm lazy as ever. Thus, last Friday, since we have no class, I decided to go for it.

Unfortunately, the most unfortunate person in the universe (as I always say), my hair turned out so awfully wrong. My hair is super short. The last time I sported a short hair as this was years ago. Plus! The curls are super small! I told the stylist for medium curls, and she said okay. Maybe I'm okay with a hair this short, because Tricia Gosingtian had a hair this short with those meduim curls, but the tiny curls are so not okay! My hair look like dead, plastic Barbie doll hair. T_T

At first, I would want to blame my sister for this. She didn't want to go with me at the salon where I got my hair permed the last time. I love that salon, because the gay stylist really know how to manage my hair. Perfect length, perfect cut, perfect curls. But the last time we went there, the stylist who cut my sister's hair cut it too short and ugly. My sister became so angry, that the next day, she went to another salon and just had her hair rebonded. She promised not to go back to that salon, ever. I always want to have someone go with me at salons. She agreed to go with me, but at other salons, so okay. I think there's no problem with that. My sister said that the perms of salons are just the same, so I don't have to worry. Turns out, they are not the same!

On second thought, I blame myself. This is not my sister's fault, neither the stylist. It's all my fault! If I were not so dependent on others, I could just go all by myself to the salon I love and had my hair permed there. The result would be okay, I guess. I would not have this freaking ugly hair right now. Argh! I want to beat my sorry dependent self up!

Well, I can't do anything about it now. There are really bad consequences of our choices, like my laptop acting so freaking crazy and dumb. It was my choice to buy it, so now I have to suffer. All I have to do now is to wait for my hair to grow and be long enough for me to cut the small curls. I may have to find another salon to have it permed, too, because my favorite gay stylist doesn't work on the salon, anymore. Mama found out after her mani-pedi yesterday. I have no idea where he is. My sister also said that Au Revoir (where we got our hair permed first) is closed, now.

Forgive me for my long rants. I just have to let it out. :/

Segunda Mano

On page 2 of 366, our family opted to patronize Philippine movies. Thus, we watched Segunda Mano. Manila Kingpin is my first option, but majority wins. I am not a stubborn killjoy (my brother) who just sits outside the cinema, waiting for his family who were all inside enjoying a LOL movie, such as Segunda Mano. He just doesn't know how to cooperate, even with Mama. Bad vibes away!

Anywhoo, Segunda Mano is a LOL movie, because it's totally funny. Bangs Garcia is the star of the movie. She's simply hilarious. It's not even scary. If you know me, I don't easily get scared with horror movies. Horror movies always fail to do horror on me. Insidious had high horror acclaims, but it's a thumbs down for me. Seriously, what kind of ghost can't pass through a door? Horror movies are so funny. The only horror movie who scared the shiiizzz out of me is Shutter, the original Thai one, not the remake. Only Asian horror movies creep me out. Shutter made me paranoid and has caused me sleepless nights. The idea that Natre is riding on my back just makes me crazy. haha

I was just looking for my coin

No matter how many movies would exude horror out of second hands, pre-owned, pre-loved, thifted, vintage items, or antiques, I would not get scared. I think it's all capitalism, anyway. These movies portray horror in these items, so that we would no longer buy thrifted. Thrifted has been gaining a lot of love, because it's cheap, and there's 0.0004 percent that you're gonna find someone wearing the same outfit as you. The expensive, upscale brands are losing some profit from people who are so devoted in thrift shopping. Hence, the horror movies about ukays. I'm not saying that this is exactly the point of Segunda Mano and that killer wedding dress from Shake, Rattle, and Roll XI story Ukay-Ukay last 2009. I'm just blabbing out my theory. Just a theory. :)
