Bittersweet Date with the Azkals

The Philippine Football Team popularly known as the Azkals have been making a loud uproar not just in the Philippines, but also in different continents of the world. Possessing not just talent, but those good looks that make all the girls and gays flutter with just a glimpse. Count me in! I won't deny it, I love their Fil-Brit players and all those foreign-looking masculinity. However, I didn't love them just because of their looks. I immediately fell in love with them when I saw them at the AFF Suzuki Cup last December 2010. In fact, I fell in love with them so much than when they lost, I lost faith in God. In the sports arena of my life, only the Los Angeles Lakers made me lose my faith, the all hailed and mighty Lakers... so Azkals really have something in them. They had a spark that I can't explain. In fact, I have blogged about them and how they made me lose my faith in A Greater Sin. Enough backtracking.

Azkals had a 5-day stay here in Cebu for some training, clinic, TVC shoot, meeting with the Governor, meet-and-greet, and mall tour. Of all those, I was able to watch their afternoon training last May 29, and see them during their mall tour in Ayala last May 30.

As I always claim, I'm never lucky enough. During their training, I wasn't able to bring with me a camera, because Mom brought it with her in her trip to Tabogon, up north. I just used my phone, which is very inconvenient. Fortunately though, Niña and I had Neil Etheridge, Roel Gener, James Younghusband, and Paolo Pascual's signatures. But it would have been better if we had photos with them, right? We got videos, anyway. And oh, Neil Etheridge was the first one who came to the fans, I think he's the kindest of all. James Younghusband is the 2nd kindest.

During their mall tour, my unluckiness still tailed me. My sister Ira and I were so close to Paolo Pascual, but we weren't able to take photos with him. The group before us were such slow butts, that when they were done taking photos with him, they moved like a constipated turtle, and Paolo already walked away, he then was too busy with the others who took photos with him. We were left there, my jaw dropping with regret and sadness. I could have shouted and begged him to stay there for a moment, but I didn't. I hate to regret, but I always regret. I just have to forget about it and look at the brighter side - I have his signature.

Lesson learned. Grab the opportunity. Eminem was always right, "You only got one shot, do not miss the chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, you better." Stop regretting, keep living. At least, I saw them twice, and I even have their signatures. More good things will come my way, I believe.
Neil Etheridge's signature on my Samsung phone, Roel Gener's signature on my shirt, Paolo Pascual's signature on my hanky, and James Younghusband's signature on my Nokia phone and hanky! I super love them! Thank you, boys! Thank you Tamara Niña Orcullo Pleños for being with me on that day! ♥♥♥

Summer Sunscream 2011 and the No No

PARTY ROCK IS IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT!

Well, yeah, Summer Sunscream is done, it's over, the party has ended. What I have are the photos of our experience and a few side comments.

*me at the center*  I'm wearing a thrifted printed sheer button down , DIY shorts, accessories c/o Extreme Finds & Patricia Prieto (thank you both), and Havaianas slippers.

URBANDUB!

PAUL JAKE!

Summer Sunscream won't be fun if you don't know how to have fun. Yes, there are bands and live music, the beach, foods and drinks, and a dance floor for the party people. However, the place cannot hold more than 10,000 people. People cannot move freely and comfortably. There was also that money-to-stub system. Some people may complain about it, but I understand that system. It's more hassle-free.

What I (and perhaps all of us who were there) highly rants about are the overpriced food and drinks. The bottled water which normally costs 10 pesos was sold there for 50 pesos! A pitcher of beer is 150 pesos! A shawarma and shawarma rice which cost 40 and 50 pesos, respectively, were sold there at 60 and 70 pesos, respectively. The ticket which was supposed to be sold at 200pesos on that particular day (May 21) was sold at 250pesos! That fully-air conditioned tent can't suffice, either. The tent was too little, it was overcrowded. It was too hot inside, we were soaking up in sweat, even though we did not bathe in the beach. And, we had to walk a very long mile to get to the real place of party!

Anyhow, we did have fun, because we know how to have fun. We may have these negative comments, but it won't get in the way of us having fun and living the moment. We just love to paaarrttyyyy!!!

DIY Charm Bracelet

When the DIY hype has gotten into me, I grabbed the supplies available at home to DIY some accessories. These stones and crystals are charms, but I don't know what these charms are for. My mom had two charm bracelets which elastic line/nylon cord gave up on themselves, so what's left were the charms and crystals. I just combined them, and I don't have any idea what this charm bracelet is for; what fortune it brings; what it symbolizes, blah, I'm not a feng shui person anyway, I just love accessories!

What you'll need are:
1. charms and crystals
2. elastic line (mom calls it nylon cord, pfft, whatever you prefer)
3. scissors

Steps (they're as easy as one two three, promise):
1. Insert the charms and crystals into the elastic line, length is all up to you, to whatever arrangement you desire
2. Tie the ends of the elastic line tightly
3. Cut the unused ends, and trim it properly. You don't want some ungroomed elastic line popping out there, do you?

See, the steps are easy as one two three! DIY now! ☺

Paradigma x Extreme Finds

Patricia Prieto, a fashion blogger, conducted her first ever blog giveaway last April. The prize were Extreme Finds accessories. As I am an avid reader of her blog, I got the knowledge about the giveaway, which led me to join, and eventually and luckily (praise God almighty) I won. Yes! I won PARADIGMA's giveaway! I was ecstatic! I mean, who wouldn't? Accessories are a lady's best buddy, and so are shoes and clothes.

Yesterday, I received the package from Patricia. Honestly, I wasn't expecting for a package for ME, I was expecting for a package for MY SISTER from Bestie Konisis. My sister also won The Capricious Club's giveaway. The perks of reading fashion blogs! Anyway, yesterday was a big surprise, since I wasn't expecting for Patricia's package. When the delivery boy arrived, Mom went out to receive the package, but because I was too excited for my sister's package, I followed Mom outside, and then she told me that I also have a package from Patricia. I thought she was kidding, but when I checked, it was really for me! I was so elated!

Patricia is so awesome, as she made an effort to write a personal message for me on the transparent box and even made cute doodles on it. She's such a lovely lady. Extreme Finds are so talented. These accessories are art! Hats off to you. I am more than grateful to Patricia Prieto and Extreme Finds. My never-ending gratitude goes out to you both! ♥

Check out PARADIGMA and see the awesomeness that is Patricia.

DIY Hanging Beads Bracelet

I made this DIY bracelet the other night because I was so inspired by the blogs I visited which teach DIYs, although I didn't patent this bracelet from their DIY's.

DIY-ing this bracelet was too easy for me, because the chain and the clasps were already attached. This was actually an old bracelet (oldness marked by the chipped off silver coating) given by my aunt to my mom. It only had one hanging silver butterfly design near the clasps. So, I didn't have a hard time attaching chains and clasps, but had them attaching the hanging beads and charms. Even though it was not super easy making them, the finished product made me smile. I'm proud of my own work. Hee. I DIY-ed three bracelets that night. I'll post the photos soon.

I love to DIY! I can't wait to DIY necklaces, especially the fringe necklace and the spring/floral bow necklace. I just haven't bought chains, clasps, and cloth, yet. I really have this DIY spirit in me, I remember, I used to DIY bracelets back in 6th grade. I also have DIY-ed 3 denims the past few months, which are now cut-offs. Let's get the DIY groovin' and booty shakin'!
