When I opened twitter this morning, this ultimate good news welcomed my pessimistic, soulless body. "Big Bang won the MTV EMA Worldwide Act" smack-dab on the screen. Magnificent! I have been religiously voting for Big Bang for them to win that prestigious award. I believed. I kept that cognitive optimism in me. BAM! They won! I am so happy for my boys. Watching the video and the photos, to see them complete and happy, it feels magical.

After weeks of VIPs voting, Big Bang has been announced the winner of the "Best Worldwide Act" Award at 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards held last November 6th at Belfast in Northern Ireland. They have the honor of being the first ‘Worldwide Act’ award recipients.
For their acceptance speech, G-Dragon spoke in Korean. Here's what he said: “We are called Big Bang from South Korea, nice to meet you all. And because this award is something that our fans have given us, it has a lot more meaningful and it gives us more joy. I would like to thank our fans, V.I.P, once again. And through this opportunity, I hope we can attract more love and interest to Korean music and Big Bang as well.”

As part of the awards show, MTV European Music Awards introduced the Twitter Tracker, which tracks the amount of tweets by netizens that mention the big acts involved in the awards show. After an intense fight with Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber, Big Bang has finally taken over the number one spot in the Buzz category with more than 260,000 tweets and counting! Moreover, Big Bang is also at the top spot under the Paparazzi category, as their red carpet picture was re-tweeted the most out of everyone.
