KONY 2012

I know by now, you all have heard about Joseph Kony (hopefully). Basically, Joseph Kony is the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) in Uganda. They abduct children and train them to be soldiers. They force them to kill their own parents. He has already abducted 30,000 to date. The International Criminal Court (ICC) produced a list of the World's Worst Criminals. Guess who topped the list? Joseph Kony. Yes, he is the number 1 world's worst criminal, but we don't even know him. We should make Kony famous and we should STOP Kony. One way is to keep the pressure on the US legislature, as they send out forces to hunt down Kony.

Why America? Why not the ICC? Well, this is how the world works. This is the reality about international relations. The reigning paradigm is still realism, although it's continually challenged by other pradigms. America is a superpower. We can't deny that. Instead of criticizing the power of the ICC as weak and useless. Instead of criticizing the legitimacy of the Invisible Children as a scam. Instead of criticizing the the video as imposing American or West dominance. Why not help, even in your own little ways? Just think of the children. This is for them. The simplest we can do are to share the video and to sign the pledge.

If you haven't watched the video yet, please do.

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.
